Memorial Day Murph

Registration is open for 2011 Memorial Day Murph. I've registered.  I'm not even sure if my box will be open on Memorial Day - this may be something I have to do "on my own," but hopefully someone in Atlanta will host.

In memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005.

This workout was one of Mike's favorites and he'd named it 'Body Armor.'

From here on it will be referred to as 'Murph' in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is. (First posted on CrossFit.com August 18, 2005)

Murph is... 1 mile run - 100 pull-ups - 200 push-ups - 300 squats - 1 mile run.
For time: Partition the pull-ups, push-ups, and squats as needed. Start and finish with a mile run. If you've got a twenty pound vest or body armor, wear it.

It's a no joke workout that comes with a warning of rhabdo. It's not for the faint of heart or untrained. I'm not convinced I'll wear a 20lb. vest. We'll see how training is going closer to the day. It appears to take about an hour to complete this workout.  Can't Freaking Wait!
